My dream for BUC by Rev. Peter Whitaker

 I have a vision of a church that has a five-fold balance of the Biblical principles of worship, fellowship, discipleship, service and evangelism.

I have a vision of a church that knows to neglect one of these five-fold principles is to bring imbalance and ill health to the Body of Christ in this place.

 

ENERGISING

WORSHIP

 

 

I have a vision of worship energising members and guests as they celebrate the life giving love of God. I see 500 plus people worshipping God in two services each Sunday.

 

ENCOURAGING

FELLOWSHIP

 

                                                                     I have a vision of warm encouraging fellowship that supports and builds up the people of God in their journey with God. I see twenty plus fellowship groups encouraging one another in faithfulness.

 

ENRICHING

DISCIPLESHIP

 

                                                                     I have a vision of God’s people always growing in their love, understanding, knowledge, gifts and skills in the service of God.  I see a wide range of educational programmes enriching people in their faith development and practice.

 

ENTERPRISING

SERVICE

 

                                                                     I have a vision of loving our neighbour in intelligent and courageous ways. I see a greater involvement in local, national and international communities serving others and working for a just world.

 

ENGAGING

EVANGELISM

 

                                                                     I have a vision where we share our story of God’s gracious life giving love, and warmly engage with seekers in their search for wholeness. I see people come to experience Jesus as Lord and grow in love, faith and hope.

I am confident that this is possible, because they are God’s principles, and God will make them happen if we are faithful. And I know you want to be a faithful people.
