  Church Groups . . .
There are lots of groups within the congregation at Burwood, for people of all different ages. Some are purely social, a chance for people to meet together and have some fun. Others have a particular purpose, such as bible study, prayer, fund raising for mission and outreach, or involvement in worship. All our groups have one thing in common though: they're a great way for people to make some new friends!

Bible Study

Small bible study groups meet weekly at members' houses, or at the church, to study and discuss passages from the bible in an informal atmosphere.

Prayer Group

Meet together Sunday morning to pray for the activities and witness of the B.U.C. congregation and the wider Church. (more details)

Ladies Fellowship

The Ladies Fellowship meets on the second Monday of the month from February to December at 1.30pm and averages about thirty members. The aim of the group is to encourage the loving fellowship, freindship and support of members and to learn of the work of the wider church and other organisations.

Meetings include devotions and speakers on a wide range of topics. Fund raising social functions are held during the year, proceeds of which are donated to some of these organisations. Food and clothing collections are arranged annually to support Uniting Church missions.

Anyone is very welcome to join the group, either as a member or to attend a meeting to hear a particular speaker.

Men's Fellowship

A group of men linked to Burwood Uniting Church meets monthly on the third Monday at 1.30pm for a varied program of activities, including contributions from members and some outside speakers.

Easy Walking Group

This is for folk who wish to take a leisurely walk. Program usually includes at least one easy walk per month.

Social Activities Group

The Social Activities Group organises activities in which the whole church family, both young and mature, can join in friendship and fellowship. Typical activities include games night, restaurant night, film & amateur theatre productions, dancing, progressive dinner, etc, etc.

Affiliated is the small but extremely energetic Burwood Walking Group, which undertakes regular bush-walks. Program will normally include a day walk each month, with for the more enthusiastic one overnight walk (with hike packs & tents) each year.
