Peter entered the ministry of the Church of Scotland following his graduation from Aberdeen University in 1981. His first post was in the east end of Glasgow where he served in an ecumenical position as the Community Minister. He then moved to the United Reformed Church in England, serving in five posts which included new town ministry, ministry with an old established church, and working again as an ecumenical Community Minister in North Kent.
Following a visit to Melbourne in 2010, Peter was called to serve with the congregation at Burwood. Peter is passionate to see God’s community expand as people hear the news that God cares for them. He recognises that society is changing and that the church needs to be where people are, rather than expect people to come looking for the church.
Peter is married to Clare, a teacher, who is a specialist in educational needs. They have their daughter, Lauren, who is studying on the Master of Teaching course at Melbourne University, living with them.
Peter enjoys reading and the Melbourne café culture.
