Worship Centre service - 10.00 am,
Sunday (with KUCA)
Wesley Room service - 10.00 am, first and third
Sundays
On most Sundays at Burwood we have two services. We decided that this
was the best way to give people more choice about what style of church
service they could go to. People of all ages are welcome at both
services.
One service, involving interactive worship in-the-round, is held in the Wesley Room
(adjoining the "Worship Centre"). The style is informal and
reflective, with opportunities for leadership by those worshipping as
well as the ministers. This service is held in the mornings on alternating weeks - see above for service times.
The service held in the Worship Centre (the main part of the
church) follows a more traditional liturgical pattern, with hymns, bible
readings, prayers and a sermon given by a Minister of the
Word.
Every week we meet after worship at 11.00am in the hall for morning tea,
and spend time catching up with our friends.
Other Services . . .
Burwood also runs other services during the week, for elderly people,
or those who can't make it to church on Sunday mornings.
Wednesday:On the fourth
Wednesday of each month we have an evening service, which follows the Taizé
style of worship -- lots of candles, music, and prayer.
Thursday: On
Thursdays a service is held at Condare Court for elderly residents who
could not otherwise attend church.
